Roy Soule
• New Mills FC Manager
• Crewe Alexandra FC- Regional Recruitment Manager
• Chief/Senior Scout - Grimsby Town, Oldham Athletic, Crewe Alexandra & Rotherham United
I have known Mark since he was a youth trainee at Oldham Athletic FC and my association with him as a player and a friend has continued, highlighting Mark’s sincerity. Mark was a player of vision, awareness and creation and when he retired from professional football, I enlisted his services at New Mills F.C to be part of my team. He soon became a fans favourite and a Manager’s delight with the professionalism that he brought to the team. Mark’s qualities were too important to lose when he decided to retire from the semi professional game and I was quick to offer Mark a position on my coaching team. Mark quickly enrolled himself on the FA and UEFA coaching qualification courses which he successfully completed. Mark is conscientious and honest in his preparation to detail and I trust him to add a seal of quality in all that he puts his efforts into.

• New Mills AFC Club Captain
Having been lucky enough to play with Mark for a couple of years he certainly brings his quality, commitment and enthusiasm for the game into his coaching sessions. His attention to detail is second to non and he works and plans to produce high quality coaching sessions which are both enjoyable and effective for the team. Mark's ability to communicate with players of all different abilities is paramount in getting the most from the players he coaches. Having played the game to a high standard he is a great role model for any players who are coached by him.

• Bolton Wanders FC, Under 21’s Pro-Development Coach
• Former Leeds United & Norwich City Captain
Mark was one of the best and most dedicated players in our youth team days at Oldham Athletic A.F.C. We had such a fantastic group of players but Mark’s game intelligence was incredible. I always thought that Mark would go on to make a fantastic Manager/Coach! After watching him teach, he manages to transfer his knowledge of the game across to the players really well. I will be popping down to his coaching academy from time to time to observe any players that Mark recommends for our Bolton Wanderers Youth Academy teams. I am confident that I will be speaking to a few players about coming to Bolton Wanderers Youth Academy.

• Parent of player at Rochdale A.F.C Youth Academy – Under 15’s
Mark was one of my son’s coaches at Rochdale A.F.C. Youth Academy. Out of the four coaching staff, I always found Mark to be very friendly and approachable. His coaching of the lads was always interesting and although the football was of a very high standard, their training sessions were always enjoyable. If there was any area of the training process where the lads needed to improve, he would talk to them in a constructive manner and encourage them to play to their strengths and more importantly to enjoy their football. Even after leaving Rochdale A.F.C Youth Academy, Mark has enquired and is genuinely interested in how my sons football is progressing, this is testament to how much mark takes a personal interest in each child he coaches. My son has gone onto get a football scholarship and I am in no doubt that Mark’s encouragement and good coaching helped him to get to this stage.

• Lead Foundation Phase & Professional Phase Coach at Cheltenham Town F.C.
I first met Mark on the UEFA B License where immediately his very kind and enthusiastic character was infectious. Mark was superb on the course; his attention to detail in his session plans was second to none and he always took this detail into his sessions which lead him to deliver technically and tactically excellent sessions, that were also very enjoyable! He always catered for different learning styles and made everyone feel very comfortable in his coaching style, which then always lead to players being and feeling involved. Mark was a true gentleman and he could play a bit as well! I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the course with Mark and looked up to him as a person and as a coach.

• FA Coach Mentor
• Derby County F.C. – Centre of Excellence under 15’s Coach for Girls
• Chesterfield F.C Football Female Activator
I first met Mark in January 2014 on our UEFA B Licence course at St George’s Park. We were put into the same group and were paired to deliver a session together. As well as being a fantastic footballer, Mark was such a grounded and hard working coach who showed his football class on the delivery of his sessions. Being the only female on the course, I wondered if I would find the 9 month course difficult but Mark was the first person I met there and along with others, hewas a great friend to have and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him- a model professional!
